The PACIFIC NAVAL WAR was a secondary theatre for Canada during WW II but the threat from Japan and the actions taken by Canada and her allies were a substantial commitment of resources by the Federal, Provincial and regional authorities. This is the story of that period and those events.
This website resource, in conjunction with CFB Esquimalt, focuses on Canada’s Pacific region during World War II. This is the first of several joint projects with various outstanding Naval Museums intended to tell the full story of Canada’s Naval History. The museums, heritage sites, archives and people belonging to the naval community, which have lent their support to this project, present the story in a more complete and compelling manner and visitors to this site are encouraged to visit, access, speak with and explore the real participants and presenters of a proud naval heritage.
